Remote/In Person Notary - Digital Reporter

JOB DESCRIPTION Transitioning from your current role as a Notary to becoming a Digital Reporter ("DR") could be a significant shift. As a DR, you would oversee civil litigation proceedings and document all aspects, including witness testimony. It involves a more detailed and procedural involvement in legal proceedings compared to typical notarial duties. Are you interested in exploring this transition further? The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
- Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
- Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
- Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
- Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
- Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.
REQUIREMENTS
- State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states).
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings.
- Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
- Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Comfortable with technology, particularly strong in keyboard skills.
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
- Open to working as an independent contractor.
- Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
- Willing to work both remotely and in person.
