Responsibilities

The Medical Records Tech is responsible for the day-to-day operations of records support throughout the records warehouse. This may include compiling incoming records, verifying accuracy, sorting/coding according to file system, storing records in paper form, and input of information into computerized storage system. The Medical Records Tech will also assist in prepping and scanning; removing of staples, chart dividers, post it notes, taping down loose documents and counting of pages to be appropriately batched. Searching and investigating information in files, typing reports, applying labels and implementing filing system as necessary. Maintaining a safe working environment and optimizing space utilization. Maintains a department "culture" that is patient-focused and participates in teamwork, quality, integrity and professional growth

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING ? High School Diploma or equivalent required ? One-year Medical Record Storage or scanning experience preferred ? Completion of a medical terminology course; preferred ? Knowledge of terminal digit filing and medical terminology; preferred ? Accurate alphabetic, numeric, and/or terminal-digit filing; preferred ? Knowledge of State & Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation; preferred ? Computer data entry with 10-key, with accurate typing speed of 35 wpm; preferred ? High degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity ? Strong computer skills (MS Office) ? Valid driver?s license preferred ? A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $21.00 to $21.76.
