About the position GARNEY CONSTRUCTION is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for a position in Mesa, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and be skilled in operating heavy machinery. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for performing various tasks including excavating, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final clean-up. This role requires not only the operation of the excavator but also the ability to perform operator-level maintenance on the machinery. Safety is paramount, and you will need to understand safe working loads and signals, as well as handle trench boxes of all sizes and shapes. The position may also require you to perform functions of a laborer as needed, demonstrating versatility and teamwork on the job site. To be successful in this role, you must have at least five years of construction experience and a firm knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance. The ability to work overtime and willingness to travel are also essential for this position.
