About the position The Authorization Specialist I role at Centene Corporation is an entry-level position focused on supporting the prior authorization process for healthcare services. The specialist will ensure that authorization requests are processed accurately and within contractual timelines, assisting the utilization management team in documenting and tracking these requests effectively. Responsibilities ? Supports authorization requests for services in accordance with the insurance prior authorization list , ? Performs data entry to maintain and update authorization requests into the utilization management system , ? Assists the utilization management team with ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on authorizations and referrals , ? Contributes to the authorization review process by documenting necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis , ? Remains up-to-date on healthcare, authorization processes, policies, and procedures , ? Performs other duties as assigned , ? Complies with all policies and standards Requirements ?
