Meet the Team We are a close-knit team focused on hardware quality and failure analysis, within a larger hardware engineering organization which designs, implements, and delivers leading Switching and Routing products. The Common Hardware Group (CHG) delivers the silicon, optics, and hardware platforms for Cisco's core Switching, Routing, and Wireless products. We design the networking hardware for Enterprises and Service Providers of various sizes, the Public Sector, and Non-Profit Organizations across the world. Cisco Silicon One (#CiscoSiliconOne) is the only unifying silicon architecture in the market that enables customers to deploy the best-of-breed silicon from Top of Rack (TOR) switches all the way through web scale data centers and across service provider, enterprise networks, and data centers with a fully unified routing and switching portfolio. Your Impact In this highly visible role as Hardware Failure Analysis Technical Lead, you will lead failure analysis effort on switches and routers. You will be responsible for performing in-depth root cause analysis, and determination of contributing factors and corrective actions for improvement of field product quality. You will perform fault reproduction, troubleshooting, system characterization, and root cause analysis of product issues, while ensuring efficient bug tracking and resolution. You will prepare comprehensive technical reports for customers and Cisco leadership detailing findings from product failure investigations. You have a passion for technical failure investigations, hardware root cause analysis and quality engineering. You possess an in-depth knowledge of networking products and high speed serdes interfaces. You are an excellent communicator and can present information to groups. Minimum Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering or related degree •8 years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, and failure analysis •Experience with design for high-speed signals with SerDes / serial transmission technologies •Experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment - oscilloscopes, digital multimeter, Logic Analyzers, Network Traffic generators (Ixia, Spirent), etc. Preferred Qualifications •Experience with CPUs/embedded CPUs, FPGAs/PLDs and good understanding of control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C •Experience with MS Excel and data collection •Familiarity with Python, PERL or similar scripting and execution languages #WeAreCisco #WeAreCisco where every individual brings their unique skills and perspectives together to pursue our purpose of powering an inclusive future for all.
