About the position The Natural Resources Specialist II position at TCEQ involves conducting investigations related to environmental compliance and enforcement. The position allows for remote work within Texas, with occasional office attendance required. Responsibilities • Plan and conduct in-house investigations for the emissions events program; prepare reports to document investigation findings. , • Identify potential violations through investigations of reports and records of emissions. , • Conduct enforcement and follow-up activities in accordance with Enforcement Initiation Criteria. , • Provide technical assistance and information to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application of appropriate regulations. , • Coordinate and/or participate in the collection of records, research, or analysis due to Public Information Requests (PIR). , • Participate on committees and attend meetings, seminars, or workshops as required. , • Perform technical assistance activities for disaster response as needed. Requirements • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field. , • Experience performing environmental activities. , • Experience writing technical or research papers.
