In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating group inclusions, promotions and support for groups department needs, developing supplier relationships and groups strategies with suppliers that best enables Apple Leisure Group to gain a competitive advantage in all destinations with the focus on Mexico-Caribbean. ** A successful Supplier Engagement Manager will:** • Own supplier relationships and be the main point person for group related questions and opportunities • Facilitate communication and projects among two teams (Groups Department & Supplier Engagement) with the best positive impact on ALGV performance • Analyze Groups data, share it regularly with suppliers and apply it to create win-win solutions that benefit all parties, showcase value of opportunities and persuade suppliers to engage. • Negotiate Groups policies, Group Credit offers or promotions • Negotiate new programs with suppliers to keep products industry leading and innovative • Timely address turnaround issue and other challenges arising with suppliers • Coordinate and finalize on-going team supplier trainings to ensure team members are continuously learning about products and destinations • Contribute to the development of the unique processes for groups • Understand Groups divisions and key processes • Effectively communicate market trend feedback based on supplier meetings and discussions to SE & Groups Leaders • Professionally represent ALGV by attending various supplier and industry events • Demonstrate a commitment to ALG core values • The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary A successful Supplier Engagement Manager will have: • Account management experience is preferred • Personable interaction and ability to create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and team colleagues • Using knowledge and data to create win-win solutions that benefit all parties, showcase value of opportunities and persuade others to engage • The ability to travel by air, car and train for approximately 10% of your work schedule to include international travel, travel to corporate headquarters and trade shows • Travel industry experience and/or training is strongly preferred • Effective negotiation/selling skills • Strong oral and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to proactively engage with internal and external contributors to deliver desired results • Analytical skills to work with data and make suggestions based on various reports • Strong initiative and time management skills Education • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job • Strong proficiency Microsoft suite and ability to quickly learn analytics and reporting tools • Experience with Salesforce product is preferred About Apple Leisure Group As North America’s only vertically integrated travel, hospitality and leisure management group, Apple Leisure Group is an industry innovator that combines the expertise of 14 leading brands.
