Senior Backend Engineer
Workyard is a fast-growing venture backed startup that is developing an innovative workforce management platform for the construction market. This high-impact role is perfectly suited for an experienced software engineer who is excited by the prospect of working directly with the founders at an early-stage company to drive product adoption and revenue expansion. The focus of this role is advanced technical work, mentorship, and some ownership of components or subsystems.

This is a 100% remote role out of the Philippines.
Responsibilities
Work within our product team to build new exciting features.
Plan changes in a methodical fashion and create appropriate levels of technical documentation before commencing development.
Implement reliable and robust API endpoints to serve our client-side platforms.
Improve the code base through continuous refactoring.
Implement unit tests and ensure rigorous E2E testing of new releases is performed.
Keep up to date with the state-of-the-art of server-side development.
In order to facilitate fluid communication between team members, ensure Slack notifications are enabled and respond to all relevant Slack messages in a timely manner.
Requirements
Outstanding software engineer: you’ve shipped numerous consumer-focused applications over your many years in the industry and understand what it takes to code robust apps.
Excellent communication ability: you are capable of collaborating with product designers to reach the best customer outcome.
Highly focused: you have a great ability to differentiate the essentials from the nice-to-haves in a way that gets you as fast as possible to the end result.
You can self manage your time and projects, setting a good example for other engineers.
Passion for software development and a desire to continuously improve your craft.
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent) and/or significant industry experience.
