Field Claims Representative (Southern Colorado)

About the position The Field Claims Representative at Auto-Owners Insurance is responsible for investigating and resolving property claims in Southern Colorado. This role involves assessing policy coverage, evaluating losses, and ensuring timely claims payments while providing excellent customer service. The representative will work closely with clients, legal entities, and insurance policies to facilitate the claims process effectively. Responsibilities • Investigate and assemble facts related to claims. , • Determine policy coverage and evaluate the amount of loss. , • Analyze legal liability for claims. , • Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in assigned territories. , • Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying policies, endorsements, and forms. , • Work towards the resolution of claims, attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary. , • Ensure claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner. , • Conduct investigations via phone, mail, and on-site visits. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. , • A minimum of 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims with an emphasis on property claims. , • Above average communication skills (written and verbal). , • Ability to resolve complex issues and organize data. , • Possess a valid driver's license. Nice-to-haves • Field claims handling experience is helpful but not required. , • Knowledge of Xactimate software is preferred but not required.
