This opportunity requires deep technical, problem-solving and communication skills.Key job responsibilitiesEngineering execution - drive crisp and timely execution based on customer impact and business opportunityPriority management - manage diverse requests and dependencies from world-wide teamsProcess improvements – define, implement and continuously improve delivery and operational efficiencyStakeholder management – interface with and influence your stakeholders, balancing business needs vs. technical constraints and driving clarity in ambiguous situationsOperational Excellence – monitor metrics and program health, anticipate and clear blockers, manage escalationsA day in the lifeYou organize a design review with a partner engineering team and ask probing questions to ensure the design meets customer needs. At the conclusion of that meeting, you ensure everyone understands what are the follow up action items, who owns them, and what are the expected delivery dates. You write a 1-pager to ask senior leadership for their guidance on a project issue that has bubbled up and could block the team. You prepare a bi-weekly program summary keeping senior leadership and other interested teams aware of progress toward goals.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of technical product or program management experience3+ years of software development experience5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experienceExperience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExperience building and evaluating system-level technical designExperience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmapsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experienceExperience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadershipAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
