Project Coordinator/Stop Loss Intern - MD, DC, VA (Summer Recruitment - Remote)

Resp & Qualifications CareFirst runs a year-round internship program. The ideal candidate is someone who can commit to work throughout the year part-time up to 15-20 hours in the Spring/Fall AND full-time 40 hours in the Summer. This internship position resides within the Specialty Business Unit at CareFirst where you will be an integral member of the team. This team is responsible CareFirsts Specialty Business lines, including Dental, Vision, Stop Loss and Wellness. This position will assist in the Stop Loss Department within the Specialty Business Unit. This position may include the following duties: • Learn and understand Insurance products in-depth. • Use your analytical skills to present findings and outline client reports (pivot tables, visualizations, narrative summaries). • Learn and understand the business processes of Stop Loss insurance, including claims, reporting, and marketing. • Learn and become a competent user of administrative platforms to include Salesforce and LuminX. • Evaluate competitor offerings and consumer preferences and potential for new product offerings. • Assess value and performance of existing business relationships and vendor contracts. • Formulate excel spreadsheets and calculate comparisons for departmental analysis and coordination of projects. • Assist with the development and fulfillment of departmental reporting. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited College or University at either the Junior or Senior level with a GPA of 3.25 or above. The student should be pursuing a degree in Healthcare Management, Marketing, Project Management and/or Business-related studies. Abilities/Skills: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. • Willingness to work as part of a team as well as independently. • Experience using Microsoft Office products, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Salary Range Disclaimer The hire range posted is an annual rate.
