About the position The 2025 Summer Risk Review Group (Internal Audit) Internship at KeyBank is a unique opportunity designed for students who are graduating with a four-year or graduate-level degree by May 2026. This 10.5-week program offers interns meaningful work that directly impacts KeyBank's business and strategic pillars. Interns will engage in various line of business-specific projects, providing them with hands-on experience and the chance to contribute to the organization’s risk management practices. The internship includes networking opportunities with Key teammates across all levels, participation in Learning Labs featuring internal and external speakers, and mentorship from seasoned professionals in the field. As part of the Risk Review Group (RRG), interns will gain insight into the internal audit function, which provides independent assessments of KeyBank's processes and risks. The RRG is responsible for testing the adequacy and effectiveness of the bank's risk management practices, making recommendations for improvement, and monitoring remediation efforts. Interns will work closely with experienced auditors, gaining exposure to various lines of business such as Asset Management, Capital Markets, Compliance, and more. The internship culminates in a Spotlight presentation to the Senior Leadership Team, allowing interns to showcase their experiences and contributions during the program. The internship is conducted in a remote work environment, with the possibility of occasional office work for those located near Buffalo, NY, or Cleveland, OH. Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week, typically during standard business hours, and will receive direct coaching and feedback throughout the program. Based on performance, there may be opportunities for full-time placement as a Rotational Analyst with the RRG upon graduation. Responsibilities • Staffed on one or two risk reviews to gain insight into all phases of an audit (planning, fieldwork, and reporting). , • Work assigned each week based on the current reviews in process on the assigned team. , • Attend audit-specific training and enterprise-wide Learning Labs. , • Network with other RRG Interns and members of RRG's Senior Leadership Team. , • Present a Spotlight presentation to Senior Leadership Team and Managers in RRG highlighting the internship experience. Requirements • Graduating with a four-year degree or graduate-level degree by May 2026 with focused coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or other business-related degree. , • Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.25 GPA). , • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities. , • Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral & written), and presentation skills. , • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
