Duties • Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage for accuracy. • Code medical records using ICD-10 coding systems. • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations. • Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise. • Maintain accurate records of patient accounts, including payments received and outstanding balances. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes. • Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. • Assist with medical collections as needed, ensuring adherence to ethical standards. Requirements • Proficiency in medical billing processes and procedures. • Experience with medical coding systems, including ICD-10. • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. • Previous experience in medical billing or related field is preferred but not mandatory. • Understanding of medical records management is a plus.
