Government Hospital Collector
About the position Our client is currently seeking a Government Hospital Collector to join their team. This position is crucial as the client, a large healthcare organization, is in the process of merging to the Epic EMR system from Meditech. During this transition, the existing workforce will be undergoing training on the new system, and your role will be to manage the Accounts Receivable (AR) accounts that are currently in Meditech. This will help free up staff members to focus on their training and ensure a smooth transition to the new system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government hospital collections, specifically with Medicare and MediCal. It is essential that you possess acute hospital collections experience, as the client is not looking for candidates with experience in physician collections. Familiarity with UB04 forms is also a requirement for this role. This position is remote, but candidates must reside within 50 miles of Irvine, California, to facilitate the pickup of equipment and ensure that laptops can be routinely mapped as needed. Training for this position will be conducted virtually, allowing for flexibility while still providing the necessary support to succeed in your role. Responsibilities Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) accounts currently in Meditech during the transition to Epic EMR system. , Work on government hospital collections, specifically focusing on Medicare and MediCal accounts. , Utilize UB04 forms for processing and managing claims. , Assist in freeing up existing staff for training on the new Epic EMR system. , Ensure accurate and timely collection of payments from government programs. Requirements Experience with Medicare and MediCal collections. , Proven experience in acute hospital collections (not physician collections). , Familiarity with Meditech EMR system. , Knowledge of UB04 forms and their usage in hospital billing.
