About the position The RN II Triage position at St. Peter's Health Partners offers a unique opportunity for registered nurses to engage in telephone triage while working fully remote during weekends. This role is designed for those who are passionate about providing quality healthcare and are looking for a flexible part-time position that aligns with their lifestyle. The working hours for this position are from 9 AM to 1 PM on weekends, allowing for a balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health issues. This role is integral to the mission of St. Peter's Healthcare Services, where the focus is on achieving positive patient outcomes and realizing professional nursing practice. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care. In this position, you will screen calls, schedule appointments, review and update medication lists, complete referrals, and educate patients on various health-related topics. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols. Responsibilities • Screens calls and schedules appointments accordingly. , • Reviews and updates medication lists to ensure accuracy in electronic medical records (EMR). , • Completes referrals and tracks patient compliance. , • Reviews prescriptions electronically and sends them to providers for review and submission. , • Obtains patient consent for procedures as directed by the provider. , • Performs pre-visit planning and reviews quality metrics. , • Retrieves telephonic clinical information from patients who call into the office. , • Monitors task list and completes tasks assigned by the provider in a timely manner based on urgency. , • Educates patients regarding medication, testing procedures, and home care techniques. , • Ensures proper labeling, handling, and documentation for patient specimens. , • Follows up with patients regarding test results based on advice given by the provider. , • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including disinfecting patient care areas and equipment. , • In conjunction with other nursing colleagues, maintains the medical supply cabinet and drug cabinet. , • Uses the electronic medical record to communicate effectively. , • Performs quality assurance duties as assigned. , • Provides a clinical visit summary (Patient Plan) to patients as requested, including educational materials. , • Participates in daily Patient Care huddles as appropriate. , • Works cooperatively with all colleagues to ensure quality patient care at all times. , • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. , • High School Diploma or equivalent required. , • Current unencumbered NYS RN license. , • Basic Life Support certification. , • 6 months previous RN experience. , • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
