The primary duties include remotely verifying medication orders, reviewing patient medication profiles for allergies and interactions, and clarifying medication orders by communicating with nursing staff or on-duty providers. While the position is primarily remote, some onsite expectations in Independence, IA, will be required for training and support as needed. This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing for under 10 hours of work per week, primarily after normal operating hours for remote verification purposes. Responsibilities • Responsible for remotely verifying medication orders entered after normal pharmacy hours. , • Verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements. , • Reviews patient's medication profile for allergies, possible interactions, and appropriateness of the medication order. , • Clarifies medication orders by contacting the nursing staff or the on-duty provider. , • Communicates with on-site pharmacy staff regarding non-urgent follow-up for orders. Requirements • Requires a minimum of eight (8) years directly related and progressively responsible experience. , • A Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required. , • An unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state is required. , • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. , • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints. , • Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills. , • Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively to improve customer satisfaction. , • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions. , • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. , • Good analytical skills. , • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
