Sales Underwriting Assistant

About the position The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking field underwriting assistants to support underwriters in various aspects of new business, including information gathering, pre and post binding, and issuing transactions. Responsibilities • Entering technical data into policy administration systems. , • Assisting underwriters with information and workflow. , • Providing backup support via email and telephone. , • Following up with agents by telephone and email to ensure outstanding underwriting and compliance information. , • Ordering underwriting reports such as Cognos, Aims Data Warehouse, and SharePoint. Requirements • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service. , • Ability to prioritize work effectively. , • Proficient use of Microsoft® Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred, though training is available. , • Ability to follow instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form. , • Willingness to work and learn with a sense of urgency as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. , • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. , • Ability to think independently, quickly, and effectively. , • Productive with light supervision. , • Comfortable with high volume workloads and production standards. , • Knowledge of commercial insurance rating process is helpful but not required. , • Ability to navigate web-based applications. , • Willingness to complete web-based research as needed. Nice-to-haves • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. , • Associate in Insurance (AINS) certification preferred, or completion within three years of start date if selected.
