Early Childhood Education Accreditation Consultant – School of Education & Professional Studies

Eastern Connecticut State University, the state’s public liberal arts university serving approximately 4000 students, offers a wide range of undergraduate majors in the arts and sciences and professional studies and selected graduate programs. Located in historic Windham County in the heart of eastern Connecticut, the University is midway between New York City and Boston and only a short drive from Hartford, the state capital. We invite applications from candidates who commit to working closely with university faculty, staff, and administrators to attain the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs for the Early Childhood Education Program at Eastern. Department: School of Education & Professional Studies Position: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Accreditation Consultant for the Early Childhood Education Program Core Duties: 1. Communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and external accreditation specialists regarding accreditation requirements/recommendations. 2. Collect data and supporting documentation on the ECE program to submit as evidence for accreditation. 3. Develop detailed written reports of evidence gathered. 4. Attend all accreditation-related meetings with the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) andNAEYC. 5. Complete ongoing accreditation training sessions. Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and/or related field • Experience in research processes, such as data collection and analytics Preferred Qualifications: • Preference will be given to those who have worked in a higher education environment. • Preference will be given to those who have experience in higher education accreditation processes, suchas NAEYC Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs. • Preference will be given to those with technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office,SharePoint, WebEx/TEAMS, and other required platforms. • Experience in quantitative data organization and analysis, with proficiency in running a statisticalprogram, is preferred. Required Professional Skills: • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a high level of accuracy. • Strong attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of projects are completed meticulously. • Capable of planning, scheduling, and executing projects to ensure smooth workflow and timelycompletion. • Demonstrates initiative and can work independently without close supervision.
