Reading and Math ONLINE-ONLY Tutor for Struggling Students (K-8th Grade)

About Us: LCB Tutoring is Christian-based online tutoring business dedicated to helping children improve their reading and phonics skills. We specialize in working with students who are struggling to learn to read and spell. Our philosophy centers around making learning fun and providing ample support to our students. We also want to make sure we are preparing them for tests as well. Job Description: This is for people looking for extra money for their family, not a full time position. We start you off with 1-2 students and then increase it! We are currently seeking experienced tutors with a strong background in reading comprehension and phonics to join our team on a part-time basis. We are also looking for tutors who have a strong background in Math. Please DO NOT APPLY if you DO NOT have a background in these areas. This position is ideal for individuals looking to make extra money for their families while making a positive impact on young learners. Our focus is on helping children in kindergarten through 8th grade to improve their literacy skills. This is for both phonics and comprehension. Our goal is to find educators who are into making learning to read FUN through games and not stressful for students, with welcoming warm personalities! This role involves conducting one-on-one sessions and small group sessions with students who are struggling with reading. Tutors will be responsible for assessing students' reading abilities, tracking their progress over time, and creating personalized lesson plans to address their individual needs. We do have also lesson plans and curriculums done for you! Responsibilities: • Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions and small group sessions with students in K-8th grade. • Assess students' reading abilities and track their progress over time. • Create personalized lesson plans to target areas of improvement in reading and phonics. • Use the science of reading to develop effective teaching strategies. • Make learning fun and engaging for students, especially in an online environment. • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on students' progress. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (preferred). • Experience teaching reading and phonics to young children. • Strong background in the science of reading. • Comfortable with online teaching platforms and technology. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Please do not apply if you do not have experience in teaching reading and phonics.
