The Senior Clinical Program Consultant - Behavioral Health Program Director will serve as an important connection between United Healthcare Community & State Health Plan Clinical Operations and the National Clinical team related to Behavioral Health program management operations. They will work in close partnership with the Clinical Operations, Community Integration, Data Services and Strategy, Network Operations and Growth teams to support success of Colorado's Behavioral Health Administrative (BHA) Service Organization and the State Medicaid Contract. The Senior Clinical Program Consultant will support the teams who oversee and serve the BHA and Medicaid contracts. They will have accountability for outcomes for Members and Provides and will engage directly with business partners to determine capabilities and barriers in operating against the program design. Root cause analyses will be conducted to determine causes of variability and with associated recommended plans to rectify. The Senior Clinical Program Consultant will help support the success of the care coordination program. If you are located in Colorado, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Expect to travel up to 50% of your time in the Colorado territory. Primary Responsibilities: • Works directly with National Teams and Health Plan Clinical Leadership to assess and monitor key program design elements • Serves as a subject matter expert and engages business partners to ensure sustained integration of program design elements • Consults with a wide range of business partners to determine the most effective solutions to create sustained success of the program • Establishes discipline in aggregating and presenting data to communicate program effectiveness and outcomes • Prepares reports and presentations appropriate for broad audiences that communicates program outcomes and performance strengths and opportunities • Monitors leading and lagging indicators • Conducts root cause analysis and develops trend reports for processes that are operating outside of established parameters • Makes recommendations to improve job aids, training, workflows, etc. to ensure successful operations and achievement of program goals • Escalates issues to help inform overall program enhancements • Establishes a methodology to ensure rapid cycle evaluation and continuous improvement • Responds to Providers and Members as necessary You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience clinical programs management (operations and implementation) • 2+ years of reporting and analysis experience with demonstrated solid analytics skill in measuring process and outcomes • 1+ years of experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Experience managing change initiatives • Process improvement skills / experience • Travel within the state of CO up to 50% of the time Preferred Qualifications: • Colorado behavioral health provider licensure • 5+ years of successive program administration and leadership experience in behavioral health policy, clinical program operations, community integration and network development functions • Community & State Health Plan experience • Familiar with performance monitoring strategies and tactics (control charts, run charts, etc.) • Demonstrated expertise with the continuum of mental health, substance use disorder treatment and recovery modalities • Proven solid influencer with demonstrated skills in innovative thinking to optimize health care system • Proven competent in creating, distilling and presenting information for appropriate audience consumption - from frontline staff level to executives • Reside within the State of Colorado and be available for BHA (Behavioral Health Administration) and State Medicaid Agency meetings and convenings Soft Skills: • Proven ability to organize and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Proven solid interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
