Librarian (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Clovis Community College

About the position The Librarian (Part-Time Faculty Pool) at Clovis Community College is responsible for providing technical services and support to students, promoting library resources, and collaborating with faculty and other librarians to enhance the educational experience. This role emphasizes equity-minded practices and aims to serve a diverse student population effectively. The successful candidate will engage in various instructional settings and contribute to the development of library policies and resources. Responsibilities • Providing on demand reference and extended research services to students , • Conducting bibliographic instruction for students in a classroom environment , • Collaborating with faculty to increase awareness of library resources to students , • Developing Library Guides and Open Educational Resources (OER) materials , • Promoting library resources to faculty, students, and campus groups , • Collaborating with other librarians to establish library policies and procedures , • Collaborating on the development, purchasing, and maintenance of library collections , • Planning and implementing the college's information competency goals , • Designing and teaching library research skills and library technology courses , • Utilizing Canvas and other online platforms to teach and communicate with students , • Providing services in various instructional settings and times, including evenings and weekends , • Communicating effectively with students and staff and maintaining effective working relationships , • Fulfilling all duties and responsibilities as required by Administrative Regulation 7122 , • Performing other duties as assigned. Requirements • Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students , • A Master's in library science, library and information science, or a valid California Community College Credential, or equivalent education and/or experience. Nice-to-haves • Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility , • Recent experience working with racially minoritized students , • Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to engage and support racially minoritized students , • Related work and professional experience , • Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds , • Demonstrated ability to work with computers and technologies for high-quality instruction , • Experience with Springshare LibChat, LibAnswers, and LibGuides , • Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
