STP’s Ideal Tutor Profile We’re seeking tutors who embody these qualities and characteristics: • Reliable and Mature: Demonstrates responsibility, showing up prepared and on time. • Recent College Graduate, Graduate Student, or Former Educator: Either pursuing or having completed higher education, and still exploring career options. • Previous Tutoring Experience: Has a proven track record of helping students succeed academically. • Outgoing and Likable Personality: Builds rapport easily with students, making learning engaging and enjoyable. • Teachable and Adaptable: Open to feedback, eager to learn new methods, and willing to grow as an educator. • Strong Communicator: Clearly explains complex concepts and ensures student understanding. • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with online platforms and tools needed for remote tutoring. • Passionate About Education: Committed to making a positive impact on students' academic journeys. Requirements: • Availability: Must be available some evenings as well as at least one weekend day. • Tutoring Commitment: Must be able to tutor at least 15 hours per week. • SAT/ACT Baseline Requirement: Must take an official SAT/ACT English & Reading test and meet minimum score requirements. • Experience: Prior teaching experience is required.
