Remote Senior Data Architect | WFH Opportunity

Job Overview We are on the lookout for an accomplished and enthusiastic Senior Data Architect to become a vital member of our team, supporting a federal government client in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Although this role is remote, your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our client’s utilization of data and metadata, all while investigating innovative technologies to adapt to changing demands. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop comprehensive data models for operational data stores and master data management, encompassing Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models. • Improve data loading capabilities for both online and offline processes. • Offer support for analytical and operational data usage, ensuring adherence to industry best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning data science, architecture, governance, infrastructure, and security to establish standards and optimize environments. • Partner with business stakeholders to enhance data collection, movement, storage, and utilization, with a strong emphasis on data quality and process improvements. • Guide stakeholders in the optimal application of data products tailored to their specific needs. • Convert business requirements into effective data architecture solutions, including data orchestration pipelines, sourcing, cleansing, and quality control processes. • Innovate and prototype new data tools and functions as specified by product owners and business units. • Supervise and mentor Data Modelers and/or Data Architects, ensuring they meet deliverables and foster their professional growth. Required Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related discipline. • 8-10 years of professional experience in developing and implementing data solutions. • Proficient in AWS services, including Glue, Athena, and API Gateway. • Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases. • Familiarity with data modeling tools such as Neo4J, Erwin, and Embarcadero. • Experience in dashboard creation and reporting using PowerBI. • Knowledge of data movement tools, such as Informatica and others. • Strong grasp of Agile methodologies and iterative development practices. • Proficient in using Jira and Confluence for project management and team collaboration. • Capability to develop and test RESTful APIs. • A sincere eagerness and readiness to learn new data tools and technologies. • Demonstrated commitment to nurturing a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and organization. • Exceptional listening skills, with a continuous curiosity and openness to new concepts. Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field. • 8-10 years of professional experience in data solutions development and implementation. • Familiarity with CMS data and proficiency in SparxEA. • Knowledge of relational database design and experience with microservices and containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
