Staff Engineer - Uber for Business, Guest Products

Within U4B, we are looking for a staff software engineer and tech lead for our Guest Products which include Vouchers, Health, Central, and Transit. What the Candidate Will Do ---- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable backend systems for the Guest Product Teams Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, business development, sales, and drive technical vision to scale our product offerings Drive continuous improvement in system architecture and operational excellence, with a focus on reliability, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability Stay current with the latest technologies and industry trends, evaluating and integrating new tools and methodologies as appropriate. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team. ---- Basic Qualifications ---- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go or similar. Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture Min 8 years of Backend engineer experience ---- Preferred Qualifications ---- Demonstrated experience shipping enterprise products at scale with quality and velocity Demonstrated experience with product growth hacking Demonstrated org wide leadership skills including mentorship, roadmap development, and technical vision A strong personal sense of engineering craftsmanship and a track record of up-leveling their organization through mentorship, process, and culture improvements Highly proficient coding in Golang or Java For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
