Responsibilities... • Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to identify and address the social and emotional needs of students. • Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' social and emotional well-being, identifying challenges and implementing appropriate interventions. • Provide individual and group counseling to students, fostering positive mental health and emotional development. • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with social-emotional needs, ensuring their academic success. Requirements and Qualifications: • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution. • Valid and current Michigan state social work license (LMSW or LCSW). • Proven experience as a social worker in an educational setting or related field. • Knowledge of virtual platforms and technology for remote counseling and support services. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff virtually. • Ability to assess and address the social-emotional needs of students from diverse backgrounds and varying age groups. • Familiarity with the Michigan state education system and regulations pertaining to school social work. • Compassionate and empathetic approach to support students facing challenges and obstacles.
