Part-Time Front-End Web Developer (Contract / Gig Work)

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced front-end web developer to join our team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for updating and adding new features to our JavaScript codebase, which powers interactive help guides for existing websites. This work has a flexible, part-time schedule that typically requires only a few hours per week... Our project prioritizes compact, lightweight code with no external libraries, so you’ll need to be comfortable working directly with vanilla JavaScript, DOM, and CSS. You’ll also need to build and debug responsive interfaces that work seamlessly across desktop and mobile browsers. Key Responsibilities • Add new features and updates to an existing JavaScript codebase used to create interactive help guides. • Maintain lightweight, library-free code. • Manipulate the DOM directly using vanilla JavaScript. • Develop and debug responsive interfaces with CSS for optimal experience across devices. • Test and troubleshoot the code on both desktop and mobile browsers. Required Skills and Experience • Strong experience with JavaScript (without frameworks or libraries). • Expertise in DOM manipulation and responsive CSS. • Ability to build and debug mobile-friendly web interfaces. • Proficiency in cross-browser testing and debugging; in particular, debugging on mobile devices as well as desktops.

Nice-to-Have

Skills • Basic experience with Chrome Extensions. • Familiarity with Node.js and npm workflows.
