Job Description

Essential Functions: Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions: • Unearths all-encompassing data that is significant to the healthcare user's health and/or situation. • Interpreting the assessment data to ascertain the diagnosis or problems involved. • Determines expected results for a customized healthcare approach suitable for the consumer's situation. • Creates a strategy blueprint that maps out various approaches and solutions to achieve desired results. • Executes the recommended plan of action while monitoring the patient's progress. • The coordination of care is critical in promoting continuity of care and preventing communication lapses among healthcare providers. • Health education and health promotion utilize diverse strategies to promote healthy lifestyle choices and establish a safe living space. • The role of advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists in consultations is to help others develop their capabilities and improve overall performance. • Tracks development in gaining target achievements. Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010): • Improving the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through a systematic approach to patient care • Gains familiarity and aptitude that showcase current nursing practices • Adopting a self-reflective approach to nursing practice can help to promote growth and development as a professional • Collaborates effectively with colleagues to enhance their professional growth and maintain a positive work environment • Nursing practice involves working closely with patients and their families to provide personalized care • Experts should fuse moral provisions into all aspects of their profession in order to uphold professional standards • Embracing evidence-based practice enables healthcare professionals to continually improve their practice and provide the highest quality of care possible • When designing care plans, nurse must balance the need for evidence-based care with the unique needs and preferences of each patient. Additional Requirements Required: Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Preferred: Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing Physical Requirements: This position mandates a very high level of physical performance, necessitating the exertion of over 25 pounds of force consistently, and more than 50 pounds frequently; it may also require the occasional exertion of over 100 pounds of force, as well as seldom exertion of over 100 pounds to move objects.
