Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will work for less than four hours daily, assisting our healthcare professionals in providing top-quality medical care. Job Description:

As a Medical Assistant, you will perform both administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include tasks such as taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood.

Responsibilities:

1. Record patient’s medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.

2. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.

3. Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.

4. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for physicians.

5. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED required.

2. Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

3. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

4. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis.

5. Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

6. Knowledge and skills of phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.

Experience:

A minimum of 1-year experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. New graduates from an accredited Medical Assistant program are encouraged to apply.
