The Information Stage Group is the backbone of our data-driven insights, building and maintaining the tools that empower Disney+ Hotstar’s product and engineering teams at scale. Our work spans a petabyte-scale data ingestion framework, Kafka infrastructure, query engines (Hive, Voila, Spark, Flink), real-time monitoring, and Airflow for deployment. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust, high-performance data processing pipelines and services to create data products for various product teams. • Build and manage data-driven applications and tools to support data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analysis. • Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Optimize data workflows and algorithms for performance, reliability, and scalability. • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. • Support hyper-growth systems across multiple geographies and regions. Skills and Qualifications for Success: • Proven experience working with product teams to build data products at scale. • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with high-scale data lakehouse systems like Databricks. • Practical experience with data technologies such as Apache Spark, SQL, Airflow, Kafka, and Kafka Connectors. • Strong knowledge of data storage formats like Parquet, Hudi, Delta, etc. • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Scala, Go, or Java. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
