Product Manager, YouTube Discovery and Recommendations

Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role. • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch. • 2 years of experience working with cross functional teams. Preferred qualifications: • Master's degree in a technology or business related field or equivalent practical experience. • 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting). • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders. • 2 years of experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership. • 1 year of experience in software development or engineering. • Experience with recommender systems, ideally within e-commerce or merchandising. In this role you will improve the quality of our podcast recommendation systems across YouTube Main, on living room devices and in the YouTube Music application. You will help grow podcast watch time by introducing more users to new podcasts and deepening their engagement with their favorite shows. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities • Define product direction and success metrics partnering closely with podcasts leads and understand ranking and metrics to navigate the team through prioritization decisions and weigh trade-offs needed to land significant positive user impact. • Develop and lead a disciplined product development process, driving product insights and outstanding execution • Develop a deep understanding of the user and creator value that podcast discovery and recommendations can offer.
