Job Summary As part-time faculty members, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students from Columbia Southern University. Collaborating with fellow faculty members, you'll create an enriching learning atmosphere. Alongside teaching responsibilities, you'll serve as a subject matter expert in your field.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging undergraduate and/or graduate courses within your area of expertise. Welcome students with a personalized video and maintain regular communication to foster engagement and support their journey. Provide timely feedback on assignments and actively participate in discussions to enhance student learning. Host live lectures to facilitate interactive learning experiences during flexible hours. Contribute to curriculum development and ensure academic integrity within your courses. Participate in faculty development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills. Additional Duties Collaborate with the Academic Program Director and lead faculty on special projects as needed. Opportunity to serve as a Course Writer for an additional stipend.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong knowledge of your subject area and academic processes. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Blackboard. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage time effectively and pay attention to detail. Education And Experience For teaching undergraduate and certificate courses: A terminal degree or master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field, or relevant experience. For teaching graduate courses: A terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field, or relevant experience. Equipment Requirements You will need: Personal computer, telephone, and printer with a scanner. Software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Blackboard. Reliable internet access with sufficient speed to perform job responsibilities.
