Job Description

As a Campus Recruiting Specialist, you will collaborate closely with the Student Programs Manager and the Talent Acquisition team, Regional Operations team, and hospital leaders to proactively address the evolving veterinary staffing needs of our hospital network. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing a comprehensive campus recruiting strategy aimed at engaging Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students. You will engage with current DVM students and, occasionally, veterinary tech students through various on-campus and virtual initiatives. Your role will involve nurturing relationships to attract candidates as student externs and, eventually, as potential employees. You will also maintain and expand our relationships with veterinary universities. This role requires significant interaction with our regional managers and hospital leaders, including doctor partners and practice managers, across our network of practices. You will work in a collaborative environment, leveraging your strong networking skills, sales experience, excellent sourcing abilities, and customer service to identify the best veterinary talent for our partner hospitals. Responsibilities • Full participation in the consultation and recruiting process for DVM students, from initial outreach to consultation, engagement as a career opportunity candidate, and onboarding. • Assist in designing and implementing strategic university initiatives to attract diverse DVM student talent across our multi-state network. • Utilize social media and other networking platforms to build a pipeline of candidates. • Coordinate and schedule interviews, providing a summary of candidate interactions to both hospital staff and the Regional Management Team. • Ensure that our staffing and externship needs are met promptly, and that we maintain a strong pool of qualified candidates. • Develop and organize lunch lectures and workshops for veterinary students, both on-campus and virtually. • Collaborate with business development and the Student Programs Manager to focus on schools in states where we are expanding. • Conduct phone screenings to assess potential student candidates for externships, internships, and residencies, considering geographical preferences and hospital requirements. • Build and maintain relationships with faculty networks at veterinary schools to maintain strong ties with the institutions. • Establish and strengthen relationships with AVMA-accredited veterinary DVM programs to ensure our organization's involvement. • Advertise and manage open DVM student externship positions across industry hiring platforms on behalf of our practices. • Regularly follow up with partner veterinarians, regional managers, and practice managers to ensure the efficiency of the externship and recruitment processes. • Engage with the DVM student community to attract candidates for externships and career opportunities. • Oversee and manage the planning and execution of all veterinary student program events, in partnership with the Student Programs Manager. • Responsible for career fairs and event registration and travel coordination as needed within assigned regions. • Work closely with the Student Ambassador team for event planning and sponsorship opportunities within assigned regions. • Anticipate up to 75% travel during peak travel seasons (September - May), with a potential decrease in travel as the team expands. • Contribute to a positive and dynamic recruiting team environment! Qualifications • Experience in campus recruitment or veterinary recruitment, preferably in emergency/specialty settings. • Comfortable with giving presentations to large groups about our organization and veterinary student programs, both virtually and on-campus. • Excellent communication and team-building skills. • Experience with social media and event planning/hosting. • A professional in-person and phone presence is required, along with industry knowledge to effectively communicate our hospitals' value propositions to students considering multiple opportunities. • Previous experience in building and nurturing relationships and talent pools to support future hiring needs. • Must reside within 50 miles of a major airport and possess a valid passport. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required. • A positive attitude is essential! Additional Information We offer a comprehensive set of medical, non-medical, and retirement benefits that we encourage our employees to utilize. We are committed to supporting your career goals through exclusive programs such as Alliance Educates, Alliance Propel, and Alliance Cares, which provide financial, learning, and wellness opportunities to enrich your professional growth. We are an equal opportunity employer that prohibits discrimination based on age, color, race, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin, in compliance with company policy, federal, and state laws.
