The Director of Physical Damage Virtual Operations is a key leader in GEICO’s Physical Damage team. This position will oversee a segment of remote operations for country wide physical damage (specifically auto). This role is responsible for leading the execution of auto damage claims handling, loss control, strategic initiatives, and processes. The person will leverage data and analytics to drive... decision making, build and create new processes, drive efficiencies, and deliver business results. PRIMARIES RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will be responsible for leading and executing change management, claims strategies, and leader development. You will drive execution of operational risk management, regulatory compliance training, policies, and procedures across multiple teams. Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and oversee progress and improvement of physical damage initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a capacity to balance multiple job functions. Travel Requirement ~25-40%. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provides guidance on technical matters, monitors claims reserve, and extends settlement authority. • Responsible for service and loss control • Consistently coaches managers on leading their teams on claims handling, inspecting, and reviewing quality of claims and responding to escalations. • Plans, organizes, and controls the resources to deliver the appropriate claims service. • Accountable for ensuring compliance with state regulations, policies, procedures, and the fair claims settlement practices act. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. • 10+ years of customer service, change management, strategic planning, process implementation, cross-functional collaboration, and team leadership • 4 years of P&C claims experience with demonstrated proficiency. • 5 years of senior management experience • Track record of process improvement, building operational excellence, and leading organizations through change. • Experience leading teams handling Auto Physical Damage Claims. • Advanced level of business acumen in the areas of the industry practices and emerging trends to drive exceptional results and process improvements. • Must have strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. • Travel Requirement ~25-40%. Annual Salary $133,000.00 - $207,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
