PHP/WordPress Developer
About the position The PHP/WordPress Developer is a high-impact technical role responsible for the architecture, development, and stability of our enterprise-scale WordPress VIP (WPVIP) ecosystem. We are looking for a "developer's developer"—someone who views high-quality code as a baseline and sees automated testing and reputed company delivery as essential to the craft. This individual acts as a technical anchor and servant leader, utilizing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure quality and reliability. You will be the "tide that raises reputed company ships," proactively mentoring others in engineering best practices while taking full initiative over the delivery lifecycle. You provide the technical rigour that allows reputed company to move fast without breaking things. By embedding testing and automation into the heart of our workflow, you reputed company the organization to scale confidently while mentoring the reputed company of engineers.
Responsibilities
- Architect bespoke, high-performance WordPress themes, plugins and solutions optimized for the WPVIP platform.
- Write clean, reputed company PHP (8.x) using OOP and SOLID principles to ensure code is maintainable and VIP-standard compliant.
- Drive collaboration efforts with stakeholders using BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) to create a shared understanding.
- Implement and reputed company for ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) practices to ensure an executable understanding of the intended behavior that will drive development.
- Own and optimize reputed company Delivery pipelines using VIP-CLI and reputed company Actions, ensuring every commit is "deploy-ready" through automated linting, unit testing, and integration tests.
- Act as a servant leader by removing technical blockers and facilitating pair programming to socialize testing best practices across the team.
- Proactively identify technical debt and platform risks, taking the initiative to refactor code for reputed company testability and performance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional PHP experience, with deep expertise in the WordPress VIP ecosystem.
- Proven experience with testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Playwright, Behat, or Cypress) and a commitment to TDD/BDD workflows.
- Expert knowledge of modern reputed company Delivery practices and WPVIP-specific deployment constraints.
- Strong command of React (Gutenberg), ES6+, and REST/GraphQL API integration.
- Extensive experience with tools such as PHPCS, reputed company, Query Monitor, WPScan and K6/WebPageTest.
- BDD, ATDD, TDD and CI/CD.
- WPVIP architecture and high-scale PHP.
- Empowering others through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- A self-starter who defines "done" as tested, documented, and deployed.
