[Remote] Linux Systems Administrator

They are seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting their global customer base and data center operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes to support scalability and reliability
- Administer and maintain Linux servers and services, applying systems analysis to diagnose and resolve complex performance, stability, or security issues
- Serve as a technical escalation point for Linux-related issues, analyzing root cause and determining appropriate remediation strategies
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to design and support new data center deployments, including system configuration and application readiness
- Perform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies, risks, and optimal execution approaches
- Monitor system performance and security posture, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with security standards
- Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational standards to support consistent administration and future scaling
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align systems administration efforts with platform reliability, scalability, and business objectives
Skills
- Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu)
- Experience applying systems-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve non-routine technical issues
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting web servers
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting databases and caching solutions
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting firewalls
- Demonstrated understanding of common Linux utilities and system tooling
- Demonstrated understanding of server and application architecture, including security hardening
- Demonstrated understanding of distributed storage solutions (e.g., Ceph)
- Demonstrated understanding of virtualization technologies
- Demonstrated understanding of load balancing concepts
- Demonstrated understanding of core networking concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plus
