Role Overview
The Strategic Pursuits organization sits within the arenaflex Cloud Go‑To‑Market team and is tasked with identifying and executing high‑impact, non‑standard growth opportunities. As a Customer Engineer – arenaflex Distributed Cloud, you will partner closely with sales, pre‑sales, and engineering teams to design, propose, and deliver complex, distributed cloud solutions for strategic, global customers. You will act as the technical authority, guiding customers through cutting‑edge cloud offers, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring alignment with arenaflex’s innovative services and delivery capabilities.
This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills. You will engage with senior technical stakeholders and executive leaders, translating business challenges into scalable, cloud‑native architectures that leverage AI, edge computing, and distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Solution Development
- Design, prototype, and launch new arenaflex cloud offers, building robust business cases that articulate value, ROI, and strategic fit.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product, engineering, finance, and legal—to secure alignment, address budgetary considerations, and obtain executive sponsorship.
- Lead proof‑of‑concept (PoC) engagements with strategic customers, guiding them from initial concept through successful validation and eventual field rollout.
Technical Advisory & Customer Advocacy
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for strategic accounts with unique, non‑standard requirements, providing expert guidance on architecture, security, and performance.
- Present complex technical concepts to both technical audiences and C‑suite executives, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain and deepen relationships with senior stakeholders across customer and partner organizations, acting as a trusted advisor and champion for arenaflex solutions.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner with internal and external developers, partners, and clients to co‑create solution code, APIs, and integration patterns that meet bespoke customer needs.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies—such as AI/ML, edge computing, and distributed data platforms—and proactively incorporate them into solution proposals.
- Travel to customer sites, industry conferences, and arenaflex events to showcase thought leadership, gather market insights, and represent arenaflex publicly.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience designing and supporting cloud‑native architectures in a customer‑facing or technical support capacity.
- At least 8 years of hands‑on system design and development using one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
- 3+ years of experience building solutions that incorporate machine learning or artificial intelligence technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in edge computing, distributed systems, or large‑scale data‑center transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and present to senior technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Fluent communication skills in both English and Portuguese, enabling effective interaction with local and global stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Track record of architecting and delivering software or infrastructure for highly scalable, distributed environments.

- Experience leading distributed, multi‑regional teams on large‑scale programs, demonstrating strong project and people management skills.
