Position Overview

As a Remote Part-Time Pharmacy Technician with a focus on customer service, you will serve as a vital link between our pharmacy operations and the long-term care facilities we serve. Reporting to the Data Entry Manager, you will handle incoming calls, process prescription orders, triage incoming faxes, resolve client concerns, and ensure that every order is clarified, accurate, and routed efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Order Management and Communication: Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally, responding to new prescription orders, refill requests, re-orders, and general customer inquiries with accuracy and empathy.
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Handle and resolve client complaints, concerns, and questions in a timely, courteous, and effective manner, escalating complex issues to the Data Entry Manager or appropriate department when necessary.
  • Fax Triage and Routing: Sort and triage incoming faxes by facility and department, ensuring they are processed in accordance with established cutoff times and routed to the correct pharmacy team members.
  • Order Clarification: Proactively clarify prescription orders with prescribing facilities and healthcare providers to prevent errors, ensure completeness, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Data Entry Support: Perform data entry duties as assigned by the Data Entry Manager, including inputting prescription information, updating patient records, and verifying medication orders within the pharmacy management system.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, order clarifications, and resolutions in accordance with arenaflex’s documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members to ensure seamless workflow, address bottlenecks, and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance customer experiences, and contribute ideas that help arenaflex deliver best-in-class service to our long-term care partners.

Essential Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacy Technician License: Must hold a current, active New Jersey (NJ) Board of Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.
  • Pharmacy Experience: Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting is required, with a solid understanding of pharmacy operations, terminology, and workflow.
  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medication Knowledge: Working knowledge of brand-name and generic medications, including common dosages, indications, and therapeutic classes.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Proficiency: Moderate to advanced computer skills, including the ability to navigate pharmacy management systems, spreadsheets, and communication tools efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LTC Pharmacy Experience: Prior experience in a long-term care (LTC) pharmacy environment is highly preferred, as it provides familiarity with the unique needs of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
  • Frameworks / ECM Knowledge: Experience using Frameworks or Electronic Content Management (ECM) systems is a plus.
  • Customer Service Background: Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in healthcare, pharmacy, or related industries.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
