The Opportunity
As a Senior Data Scientist on the Analytics team at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic and tactical decision-making across the enterprise. You will work with massive datasets, partner with cross-functional leaders, and produce insights that directly influence the trajectory of our business. You will be embedded within one of several high-impact analytics groups, including:

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, your work will directly influence the direction of the company. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Applying quantitative analysis and sophisticated data storytelling to uncover what truly drives our business beyond surface-level metrics
- Designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end analytics experiments, automated reports, and interactive dashboards using SQL, R, Python, and other scripting or statistical tools
- Mentoring junior analysts and fellow data scientists, helping them adopt advanced techniques and develop structured problem-solving skills
- Generating clear, data-backed recommendations and validating findings using statistical methods and rigorous hypothesis testing
- Partnering with business and product leaders to explain market dynamics, user behavior patterns, and long-term trends
- Identifying and quantifying the most impactful levers for moving critical business metrics, then translating those insights into actionable strategy
- Working backward from ambiguous, large-scale business problems to ideate, prototype, and deliver solutions
- Defining and tracking key performance indicators through executive-facing dashboards that monitor progress against organizational goals
- Collaborating closely with engineering teams to implement, document, validate, and monitor data logging and instrumentation
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline
- 4+ years of professional experience in data analytics, data science, consulting, or a related role
- Hands-on experience with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time-series analyses, and regression modeling
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, ETL processes, and data manipulation at scale
- Deep expertise in A/B testing, hypothesis testing, experimentation frameworks, and statistical analysis using tools such as Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB
- Proficiency with one or more modern analytics and data visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Chartio
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, open-ended business problems and resolve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field
- Experience working in a high-growth technology, marketplace, or logistics company
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their practical application to business problems
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional initiatives
- Experience mentoring or managing junior data scientists or analysts
