Why This Role Matters

The Customer Development Manager is the analytical engine that drives strategic growth for one of arenaflex’s most important national retail partners. In this role, you will translate complex data into actionable insights, align category strategies with customer priorities, and partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable results. Your work will directly influence sales, margin, and market share, positioning arenaflex as the trusted advisor for our retail partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Stewardship: Manage and curate multiple data sources—including point‑of‑sale (POS) data, syndicated market data, and internal shipment records—to monitor the execution of vendor programs and assortment plans.
  • Insight Generation: Analyze trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop data‑driven recommendations that support category expansion and profitability.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on key performance indicators such as sales volume, profit margins, market share, and inventory fill rates.
  • Strategic Communication: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling presentations for diverse audiences ranging from senior executives to frontline sales teams.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Partner with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal stakeholders to align on insights, drive joint initiatives, and ensure seamless execution of category plans.
  • Best‑Practice Advocacy: Stay current on industry analytics standards, emerging tools, and competitive intelligence to continuously elevate arenaflex’s analytical capabilities.
  • Report Development: Produce polished, presentation‑ready reports that synthesize POS data, syndicated data, and account‑specific metrics.
  • Problem Solving: Provide hands‑on analytics support to resolve operational challenges, improve inventory management, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Project Management: Juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables exceed expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to data collection processes, analytical models, and reporting frameworks to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector; experience in the adult beverage industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in integrating disparate data sets (e.g., POS, syndicated, internal shipment) into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Solid understanding of national chain sales dynamics, retail operations, and distributor logistics.
  • Deep knowledge of category management principles, shopper/consumer insights, and market research tools such as Numerator or Spectra.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership aptitude, with a track record of influencing cross‑functional teams and driving results.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with syndicated data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) and household panel data.
  • Familiarity with internal shipment data analysis and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Advanced analytical tools experience (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept through execution.
  • Experience working with large retail partners, especially those comparable to arenaflex’s national accounts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a talent for storytelling through data.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work setting while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to dissect large data sets, spot patterns, and translate findings into strategic actions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Vision to align analytical insights with broader business objectives and market trends.
