Key Responsibilities

As a Senior HRIS Data Analyst at arenaflex, your day-to-day contributions will span system configuration, data quality assurance, reporting, stakeholder consultation, and project leadership. Below is a detailed breakdown of the core responsibilities you will own in this role:

  • System Configuration and Maintenance: Provide configuration support, coordination, and ongoing maintenance for HR system functionality. Prepare comprehensive user test plans, communicate testing protocols, and ensure optimal system performance. You may be responsible for one or multiple HR applications within our portfolio.
  • End-User Support and Experience Enhancement: Deliver responsive support to end-users by configuring systems and recommending improvements that enhance the overall user experience. Research and approve system access requests based on established security protocols and organizational guidelines.
  • Troubleshooting and Release Coordination: Guide troubleshooting efforts for system issues, coordinate implementation activities, and manage release deployments. Execute test scripts for new data elements and system releases, document results, and analyze outcomes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Documentation and Training Development: Develop comprehensive system and process documentation to support communication of new procedures, facilitate smooth implementations, and empower user training initiatives across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Data Integration: Collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, and other relevant departments to ensure robust and well-supported data integrations among multiple systems. Work collectively to maintain data integrity and seamless information flow.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Perform routine data quality assessments to proactively identify discrepancies, anomalies, or issues. Report findings to HRIS Management and recommend corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of data accuracy.
  • Reporting Solutions and Analysis: Consult with end-users to understand reporting requirements and determine how data can best support their business decisions. Design, schedule, and execute standard and ad-hoc reports retrieving data from multiple systems. Utilize Business Intelligence tools, Microsoft Excel, and Access to perform specialized formatting, analysis, and processing.
  • Historical Data Analysis and Strategic Recommendations: Analyze and compare historical HR data from multiple systems, identify meaningful trends, and present recommendations to appropriate stakeholders. Prepare and deliver various reports to senior leadership and HR departments on workforce statistics, trends, and outcomes.
  • Project Leadership and Initiative Support: Provide support on major initiatives and lead specific phases of larger HRIS projects, including testing, documentation, and coordination of project team activities. Manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications effectively.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role at arenaflex, candidates must possess the following foundational qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, OR a High School Diploma/GED combined with at least three years of experience analyzing and reporting data (such as Human Resources data, financial analysis, data integrity, or data administration).
  • HRIS Configuration Experience: Hands-on experience configuring, modifying, and testing HRIS platforms such as SAP/Employee Central.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service to internal and external clients, consistently meeting quality standards and assessing customer satisfaction.
  • Analytical and Reporting Skills: Proven ability to analyze and report data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions that drive improvement and inform solutions.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Experience achieving goals with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-reliance, and understanding when escalation of issues is appropriate.
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of SUM functions, borders, column width adjustments, charts, text wrapping, sorting, headers, footers, and print scaling.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including both in-state and out-of-state engagements.

  • SQL and Reporting Tool Expertise: Experience with basic-level SQL (constructing queries, adding, modifying, and deleting data; creating and maintaining tables; querying and updating databases using SQL statements) or familiarity with other reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, or Crystal Reports.
  • Time Management Excellence: Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and track detailed information while meeting deadlines for multiple concurrent initiatives with varying completion dates.
  • Project Management Experience: Background in planning, organizing, and managing resources to deliver specific project goals and objectives successfully.
  • Communication Skills: Experience translating technical information into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
  • Requirements Gathering and Solution Design: Experience collecting business requirements, developing tailored solutions, and integrating cross-functional system capabilities.
  • HRIS Support Background: Prior experience supporting HRIS platforms in a dedicated capacity.
  • Specialized HR System Knowledge: Experience with SAP Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, learning management systems, performance management platforms, and succession planning tools.
  • HR Domain Knowledge: Understanding of Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures related to Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Training.
  • Microsoft Access Proficiency: Basic-level skills in Microsoft Access, including opening tables in datasheet view, entering and filtering data, creating and modifying forms, applying themes, running and saving queries, creating reports, and exporting to Excel.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including slide creation and management, text formatting, table insertion, and presentation delivery.
  • Microsoft Word Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, including document formatting, font selection, margin adjustments, bullet insertion, spell check, track changes, and print functions.
