Why This Role Matters

As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (also known as a Stock and Resource Expert) within arenaflex’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division, you will be at the heart of the physical infrastructure that powers our cloud services. Your work ensures that hardware assets are accurately tracked, securely handled, and efficiently moved, directly supporting the reliability and performance of the services millions rely on every day.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Perform regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Document inbound and outbound shipments, including purchase order (PO) receipt and rack management system (RMS) activities.
  • Coordinate with security escorts for third‑party vendors and ensure compliance with all security protocols.
  • Initiate and track warranty claims, process returns, and manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) workflows.

Data Center Operations

  • Execute inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring precise documentation of all movements.
  • Operate heavy‑load equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and case lifts safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in the decommissioning and secure destruction of data‑bearing devices (DBD) following strict service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Support the acquisition team by reporting stock shortages and escalating issues to management promptly.

Customer & Vendor Interaction

  • Maintain a customer‑centric mindset while handling tickets and inventory tasks, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Communicate potential impacts of internal and external events to stakeholders, providing clear expectations and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with vendors to initiate warranty processes when equipment is not operational, and track resolution timelines.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to arenaflex security and data‑handling policies, promptly reporting any security or safety incidents.
  • Participate in regular Threat and Hazard Assessments (THA) for each task to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all processes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of entry‑level experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar logistics environment. Equivalent hands‑on experience will also be considered.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to pass arenaflex Cloud Background Check and any additional security screenings required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 1+ year of experience in a data‑center or IT‑focused distribution environment, handling heavy equipment and large‑scale hardware assets.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, barcode scanning tools, and rack management software.
  • Strong analytical abilities to reconcile inventory discrepancies and generate accurate reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, leveraging arenaflex’s internal training resources.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple work streams, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proactive approach to identifying root causes of inventory variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including operations, security, procurement, and engineering.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort with hardware handling, basic networking concepts, and data‑center infrastructure.
