Role Overview

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will perform end‑to‑end data entry, billing support, and reconciliation tasks for a diverse portfolio of senior‑care and outpatient services. This is a 100 % remote, full‑time position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. You will serve as a backup for resident banking functions and collaborate closely with ancillary vendors, coding specialists, and insurance verification teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Billing Execution: Assist with weekly and monthly billing cycles for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and private payors across skilled‑nursing facilities (SNF), adult care, assisted‑living, and outpatient therapy programs.
  • Accurate Coding: Verify that all services are coded correctly before submission, adhering to CMS guidelines and payer‑specific requirements.
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with ancillary vendors to reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payment posting.
  • Allowance Management: Post Nursing Assistance Management Incentives (NAMI) on a monthly basis and track allowance allocations.
  • Payment Posting: Enter payments into PointClickCare, generate weekly denial reports, and distribute findings to the AR Manager for follow‑up.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance details, update billing systems with accurate data, and flag any coverage gaps.
  • Census Validation: Review daily and monthly census reports for accuracy, ensuring that service counts align with billing submissions.
  • Deposit Preparation: Prepare and execute deposits, maintaining meticulous records in compliance with internal controls.
  • Backup Banking Support: Serve as the resident banking backup during absences of the Accounts Payable and Resident Accounts Coordinator, ensuring uninterrupted financial operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional post‑secondary education in health‑care administration is a plus.
  • Proficiency with billing and intake software (e.g., PointClickCare, Epic, Meditech) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and speed in data entry, with a track record of error‑free work.
  • Foundational knowledge of health‑care billing and coding principles, preferably through formal training or certification.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Education

  • Certification such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claim cycles.
  • Familiarity with electronic data interchange (EDI) standards and claim submission portals.
  • Prior experience in a remote or virtual office setting, demonstrating self‑discipline and effective time management.
  • Understanding of senior‑care or assisted‑living industry workflows.
