[Remote] Mechanical Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a leading engineering-focused client. This individual will be responsible for performing advanced stress and fatigue analyses on critical mechanical systems and ensuring compliance with ASME Section III standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform and review ASME Section III calculations
- Conduct stress, fatigue, thermal, seismic, and accident scenario analyses
- Analyze components including piping, vessels, supports, and structural systems
- Utilize ANSYS and hand calculations to assess system integrity
- Review and validate calculations completed by junior engineers
- Support customer-driven engineering requests, including urgent issue resolution
- Provide both short-term fixes and long-term engineering solutions
- Work across dynamic, project-based engineering challenges that shift regularly
Skills
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 8-15 yrs Mechanical Engineering experience
- Strong background in stress and fatigue analysis
- Deep, working knowledge of ASME Section III
- Proven experience performing & reviewing engineering calculations
- Hands-on ANSYS (fatigue analysis)
- Understanding of failure mechanisms
- Must be analysis-focused (not design/CAD-oriented)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting emergent engineering issues and field-driven requests
- Background in crack analysis and inspection reduction strategies
- Experience reviewing work from junior engineers
