[Remote] AI Operations Specialist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AssetWorks Inc is building out its AI enablement function and is seeking hands-on builders for the role of AI Operations Specialist. The role involves identifying inefficiencies, designing solutions using the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and working across various product lines while reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Agent 365 — automating high-frequency tasks across operations, customer success, sales, and professional services
- Build Power Automate flows connecting Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Dataverse) with our CRM (HubSpot), project management (Jira), and product platforms
- Configure Copilot agents with custom knowledge sources, adaptive conversation flows, actions, and escalation paths tailored to each business unit
- Build SharePoint-based knowledge systems that surface accurate, structured content through Copilot agents to internal teams and customers
- Connect Copilot Studio and Power Automate to backend LLM APIs — Claude API, OpenAI Assistants, and similar — for complex reasoning, summarization, and decision logic that goes beyond what Microsoft-native models handle well
- Leverage AWS Lambda for serverless integrations where the Microsoft ecosystem needs to connect to external APIs, custom business logic, or non-Microsoft data sources
- Build and maintain n8n or Make workflows for backend automation pipelines that feed into the Microsoft interface layer
- Evaluate LLM output quality and establish testing frameworks — you are accountable for what the agent says, not just whether it runs
- Maintain prompt libraries, reusable automation patterns, and agent configuration standards that create consistent, governed AI usage across the organization
- Map current-state workflows, quantify the baseline (time, cost, error rate), and design future-state processes with AI built in at the right points
- Develop SOPs, runbooks, and documentation for every AI-enabled process you build
- Define KPIs for each initiative and track them. You will report results directly to the Director of Business Operations
- Train non-technical teams on the tools and workflows you build — translating what you built into language anyone can use
- Build playbooks that outlast your direct involvement. The goal is a team that can run AI-assisted workflows without needing you to hold their hand
- Stay ahead of the Microsoft 365 AI roadmap — Agent 365 is shipping updates monthly and we need someone who is reading the release notes
Skills
- 2-5 years of experience in operations, business analysis, process improvement, or AI implementation
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building with Microsoft 365 AI tools — at minimum, one Copilot Studio agent, Power Automate flow, or Agent 365 solution shipped and in use
- Working familiarity with AWS Lambda or equivalent serverless functions for API integrations and custom logic
- Ability to map a business process end to end, identify where AI adds real value, and build the solution without a team of engineers
- Strong documentation skills — you write SOPs and knowledge base content that non-technical people can actually follow
- Self-starter who builds structure in ambiguous environments — this program is early and you will be defining it as much as executing it
- Cross-functional collaborator — you can sit with a CSM, understand their problem, and come back with a working solution
- Microsoft certifications: PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals), PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant), or AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals)
- Experience connecting Copilot Studio or Power Automate to external LLM APIs (Claude API, OpenAI Assistants) for backend reasoning and logic
- Experience configuring Copilot Studio with SharePoint knowledge sources, adaptive cards, and multi-turn conversation design
- Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks — LangChain, LangGraph, Claude API, or OpenAI Assistants — as a backend engine behind a Microsoft-facing interface
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse and Teams app integrations
- Experience in a SaaS company, higher education, or public sector environment
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Jira, or similar platforms — we use both and they will be part of what you connect and automate
- Experience with supplemental automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier) for backend pipeline work alongside Microsoft-native tools
- Background in knowledge management, content strategy, or customer success operations
- Experience with Agile or sprint-based delivery
