[Remote] Financial Controller

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TBG | The Bachrach Group is a leading provider of outsourced C-Suite solutions to the Asset Management industry. They are seeking a Financial Controller who will manage the full financial function, including fund accounting, reporting, compliance, and treasury, while building strong relationships with clients and third-party partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the Management Company accounting function, including close process, allocations, and timely investor and banking reporting
• Oversee fund accounting, NAV calculations, and investor allocations; manage relationships with third-party administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
• Prepare and review financial statements, K-1s, and quarterly investor reports; ensure compliance with SEC, IRS, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Lead cash flow forecasting, capital calls, distributions, and liquidity management
• Coordinate with tax advisors on fund and management company tax structures; support audits and investor due diligence
• Establish and maintain internal controls, operational risk frameworks, and SOPs; partner with legal on fund structuring and compliance matters

Skills

• 7+ years of progressive experience in asset management finance, with hedge fund or private equity exposure required
• Strong technical foundation across fund accounting, financial reporting, and management company operations
• Working knowledge of GAAP, partnership tax reporting, carried interest, and SEC/IRS compliance
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Sage, and/or ADP; comfort across accounting and ERP systems
• Clear, confident communicator with the ability to present to investors and senior leadership
• CPA preferred; entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate independently across multiple engagements required
• CPA preferred
