Position Overview
As a Medical Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will serve as a critical touchpoint for patients who depend on specialty medications to manage their health conditions. Working remotely from your home office, you will handle inbound calls from patients, families, and healthcare providers, while also making outbound calls to coordinate care and resolve inquiries. Your role directly impacts patient outcomes by ensuring medication access, verifying insurance coverage, and providing empathetic, knowledgeable support during what can often be stressful moments in a patient's healthcare journey.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
- Handle Inbound Patient Calls: Answer a high volume of incoming calls from patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. Each call is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's healthcare experience.
- Make Outbound Calls: Proactively reach out to patients, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers to follow up on claims, coordinate medication deliveries, and provide status updates on prescriptions and authorizations.
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Demonstrate genuine care and empathy while assisting patients with questions about their medications, billing concerns, and treatment plans. Every interaction should leave the patient feeling heard, valued, and supported.
- Process Patient Billing Information: Accurately gather, review, and enter patient billing and medical information into our proprietary systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Navigate Insurance and Coverage Issues: Work directly with insurance carriers on behalf of patients to verify benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and ensure coverage for prescribed medications.
- Multi-Task with Precision: Simultaneously manage multiple systems, applications, and conversations while maintaining accuracy and a calm demeanor. You'll be using dual monitors and navigating between various software platforms throughout your shift.
- Document Patient Interactions: Maintain detailed, accurate records of all patient communications, insurance verifications, and case notes in compliance with HIPAA and company standards.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with pharmacists, insurance specialists, and team leads to resolve complex patient cases and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Stay Current on Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Participate in ongoing training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications, insurance policies, and industry regulations affecting patient care.
