Translation / Captioning Specialist
Language is the last mile of communication — and if you speak more than one, you're in demand. NoGigiddy is looking for Translation and Captioning Specialists to convert content across languages and formats: translating documents and web copy, captioning videos, and producing subtitles for audio and video content. This is precise, detail-oriented work that pays well and can be done entirely remotely on a flexible schedule. Fluency in English plus at least one additional language is required. Formal translation credentials help but are not a barrier to entry.
Responsibilities
- Translate written documents, web content, marketing copy, and communications between English and target languages with accuracy and cultural sensitivity
- Produce accurate closed captions and subtitles for video content using captioning tools
- Time-sync captions to match spoken audio precisely
- Review and edit machine-generated translations and captions for accuracy and natural flow
- Maintain consistent terminology and tone in accordance with client or brand glossaries
- Flag content that requires cultural context, localization, or sensitive handling
- Meet turnaround deadlines — translation and captioning work is often time-sensitive
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in English plus at least one additional language
- No formal translation certification required — though CAT tool experience is a plus
- Excellent command of grammar, syntax, and idiom in both languages
- Ability to preserve meaning, tone, and intent across languages — not just literal word conversion
- Familiarity with captioning tools (Rev, Kapwing, Amara, or similar) preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail — a mistranslation or caption sync error is a failure
- Reliable internet and a quiet workspace for audio-focused captioning work
