Position Overview – Senior Principal Architect, AdTech Customer Data & Identity (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking an exceptional Senior Principal Architect to lead the design, development, and deployment of a cutting‑edge customer identity platform within our AdTech ecosystem. This remote, full‑time role sits at the intersection of data engineering, advertising technology, and customer experience, empowering the company to deliver hyper‑personalized marketing campaigns, improve data interoperability, and drive measurable revenue growth. As the technical visionary for customer data and identity, you will shape the strategic roadmap, mentor cross‑functional teams, and ensure that arenaflex’s data assets are leveraged responsibly, securely, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Define and own the end‑to‑end architecture for customer identity, including data ingestion pipelines, identity resolution, and unified customer profiles that align with arenaflex’s business objectives.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Create a multi‑year technology roadmap that balances short‑term market demands with long‑term scalability, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Advertising, IT, Data Science, and Privacy teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and ensure seamless execution.
  • Innovation & Trend Monitoring: Stay ahead of emerging AdTech standards (e.g., UID 2.0, Unified ID, privacy‑first identifiers) and evaluate their impact on arenaxflex’s platform.
  • Data Governance & Security: Implement robust data governance frameworks, enforce privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), and embed security best practices throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Performance Optimization: Design high‑throughput, low‑latency data processing solutions using cloud‑native services (AWS, Google Cloud) and modern streaming technologies.
  • Mentorship & Talent Development: Lead a team of data engineers, architects, and analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for identity resolution accuracy, data freshness, and campaign effectiveness; provide regular executive dashboards.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Evaluate and integrate third‑party data providers, identity resolution services, and analytics platforms to augment arenaflex’s capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or PhD is a strong plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing large‑scale data architecture solutions, with at least 3 years focused on customer identity or profile management.
  • AdTech Expertise: Demonstrated track record of building advertising technology platforms, including experience with demand‑side platforms (DSPs), data management platforms (DMPs), and identity resolution frameworks.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of data ingestion (Kafka, Kinesis), storage (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), processing (Spark, Flink), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Privacy & Security Acumen: Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, consent management, and secure data handling practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive consensus on complex technical decisions.
  • Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven mindset and the capacity to translate abstract concepts into concrete solutions.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field.
  • Experience in the airline, travel, or hospitality industry, particularly within a digital marketing or customer experience context.
  • Hands‑on experience with data clean‑room technologies and privacy‑preserving analytics.
  • Familiarity with machine learning pipelines for predictive audience segmentation and look‑alike modeling.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, or similar.
  • Published thought leadership (blogs, conference talks, whitepapers) on identity resolution, data interoperability, or AdTech innovation.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Architectural Design: Ability to craft modular, extensible, and fault‑tolerant architectures that support rapid feature iteration.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java/Scala, and SQL; familiarity with Go or Rust is advantageous.
  • Data Modeling: Expertise in entity‑relationship modeling, graph databases, and schema‑on‑read vs. schema‑on‑write strategies.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with Agile methodologies, JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of revenue generation models in advertising, ROI measurement, and the impact of data quality on marketing effectiveness.
