We are currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Information Specialist II to join our remote workforce. This position is based out of our Florida operations hub but offers the flexibility of working from home. Position Overview

As an Information Specialist II at arenaflex, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize enterprise-level data solutions using Splunk and complementary technologies. Your work will directly support business intelligence, operational monitoring, security analytics, and customer experience improvements across the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop High-Quality Content: Architect, develop, and refine Splunk dashboards, alerts, reports, and visualizations optimized for scalability, reliability, and performance across the enterprise.
  • Solve Complex Splunk Challenges: Tackle intricate Splunk issues using your deep understanding of advanced search processing language (SPL), dashboarding techniques, and performance tuning methodologies.
  • Implement External Integrations: Build and maintain integrations between Splunk and external applications, systems, and APIs to ensure seamless data flow across the technology ecosystem.
  • Educate and Empower the Community: Develop training materials, lead workshops, and mentor internal teams on Splunk best practices for search optimization, alerting strategies, and dashboard design.
  • Provide Daily Operational Support: Deliver responsive day-to-day operational and community support, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of user issues.
  • Data Modeling and Optimization: Perform comprehensive data interpretation, classification, normalization, and optimization to maximize the value of enterprise log data.
  • Manage Knowledge Objects: Create and administer data articles including fields, extractions, tags, event types, lookups, workflow actions, aliases, and macros.
  • Build Summary Reports and Data Models: Configure summary-based reports and data model acceleration to improve query performance and reporting efficiency.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing advanced Splunk dashboards and complex searches within Splunk Enterprise environments.
  • Scripting Proficiency: Demonstrated scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages used for automation and data manipulation.
  • Splunk Architecture Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Splunk's Basic XML framework, application structure, and configuration best practices.
  • Regular Expressions: Solid understanding and practical application of regular expressions for field extraction and data parsing.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Proven ability to derive actionable insights from data and Splunk products to support business decision-making.
  • Dashboard Studio: Experience creating modern, interactive dashboards using Splunk Dashboard Studio.
  • DevOps Tooling: Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management and Git for version control.
  • Web Design Fundamentals: Understanding of web design principles as they relate to dashboard layout, usability, and user experience.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Demonstrated success collaborating with application teams to design and implement creative solutions for corporate data collection and enterprise logging platforms.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Experience resolving complex Splunk administration issues using automation, scripting, Ansible, AWS, REST APIs, and Splunk Enterprise.
  • Configuration Deployment: Track record of developing, testing, and deploying multiple Splunk configurations and Splunk technology add-ons (TAs).
  • Best Practices Ownership: History of owning and driving Splunk infrastructure and data administration best practices, including data onboarding workflows.
  • Advanced Visualization: Experience building advanced dashboards, reports, alerts, and other data objects in Splunk that drive measurable business value across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Splunk Certified Power User or Splunk Certified Admin certification.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Prior experience in e-commerce, retail, or customer service technology environments.
  • Knowledge of security information and event management (SIEM) practices.
