[Remote] Data Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sectech Solutions is seeking a technically grounded Data Engineering Manager who leads from the front while also being hands-on. The role involves leading a distributed team of data engineers, owning ETL development, data warehouse delivery, and ensuring production reliability, with a clear growth path to a Director-level position.
Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a data engineering team
- Planning and delivering ETL and data warehouse projects end-to-end
- Ensuring production reliability - incident management, RCA, monitoring
- Building and tracking KPI dashboards (job success rates, SLA adherence, data latency)
- Driving process improvements, automation, and engineering best practices
- Stakeholder communication across technical teams and business leadership
Skills
- 7+ years in data engineering / ETL / data warehousing
- 5+ years in a technical leadership or management role - or a strong lead ready to make the step up
- Hands-on comfort with the core stack, not just an awareness of it
- Project management capability with real delivery track record
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- US-based, authorised to work without sponsorship, able to work EST hours
- Bonus points for Azure
- CI/CD for data pipelines
- Insurance industry (P&C) background
